AWG MOMENT

Posted on December 29, 2011 at 11:30am 0 Comments

The Alameda Writers Group (AWG) has been a major force in my writing career... not the coffee and donuts, but the people that have mentored me, and those I have mentored.  I invite other AWG members and alumni to share their AWG MOMENT.

ACT I

In the beginning, there were just two writers.  Mike Hayward and I were Associate Directors at NBC and writers, so we would often exchange writing…

re "Here Comes The Pitch..."

If you were a batter, your average would be .455 - which is sensational...  for a batter.

God bless you, Victor,  for picking my imaginary logline (#17) as a winner. You made my day.

Dear Tom, Albert, John, Brian, and Vic ~

The AWG “100 Words Or Less” Writing Challenge apologizes for deleting your earlier submission to the challenge.  First, the challenge was erroneously deleted from the Web site, and later re-posted under the “Events” tab in abbreviated form (no picture, no instructions). A new “Events” item has been posted.

We ask you to please come back and re-enter your “100 Words Or Less” piece. Each one was wonderful and each a great inspiration for others to join in.

The “Events” gateway provides one method to access the writing challenge, but you each deserve a direct “red carpet” pathway:

Please click on the link below:

Thank you so much for your understanding and help.

Sincerely,

Emily

Hi Vic,

The following message goes to all new users of the site:

Welcome to  AWG’s new website.

Now what?

Here are some suggestions:

Have a blog? Link to it, copy it here, or just write it here. You’ve got readers.

Need help? Find a writing partner. Ask a question. You’ve got experts.

Need exposure? Customize your “My Page”. You’ve got publicity.

And, most importantly, invite your writing friends. (Don’t just invite your Uncle Charlie...unless his last name is Kaufman.) The value of a social site depends on the quality of people involved and their commitment to helping others.

Have an idea this site? Add it to the  “What Would Make Me Use this Site More Often?” forum.
