The Alameda Writers Group - that non-profit organization devoted to Writers Helping Writers - had its monthly meeting today where it announced the winners of the AWG Screenplay & Short Story Fiction competitions of 2011. Many of the writers in the group have been long awaiting this presentation, and for two very good reasons. Very Good Reason #1 - First Place prize being $500. Very Good Reason #2 - Second Place prize being $200.
The Chris Lockhart Experience

It's 10:30 in the morning at the Glendale Public Library and everyone is eagerly awaiting the arrival of Christopher Lockhart. The Alameda Writers Group, which meets the 1st Saturday of every month, is hosting a pitch fest … or, as President and Host Marc Cushman named it, "2012 AWG FastPitch" - an opportunity for members to stand in front of the group and pitch their ideas to a Hollywood insider.
